LIZA LO DROPS NEW SINGLE ‘CATCH THE DOOR’ + announces debut album ‘familiar’
London-based producer and singer-songwriter Liza Lo has unveiled the details of her highly anticipated debut album, Familiar, set for release on January 31st via Gearbox Records.
Liza’s career has been on a rapid rise, with her live shows building a loyal following across the UK and Europe. She recently completed a sold-out European and UK tour alongside Australian indie-folk artist Harrison Storm, followed by a series of UK dates, both headlining and supporting Steph Strings and Vraell. The album marks the next step in her evolution as an artist, following the success of her self-released EP Flourish, which garnered significant playlist support and critical praise for her introspective and meditative approach to indie-folk.
To accompany the album announcement, Liza has released a new single, ‘Catch The Door’—a melancholic track that showcases her signature blend of wistful vocals, delicate fingerpicking, and subtle piano. As the song progresses, layers of vocal and instrumental effects intensify, building to a hauntingly rich finale.
Liza further explains the inspiration behind the track: “Life brings conflict, and sometimes only one person finds the solution. ‘Catch The Door’ is written as a metaphor for this—an exploration of how we navigate moments of tension and resolution.”
With Familiar set to arrive in January, Liza Lo is poised to further solidify her place as a standout voice in contemporary indie-folk, blending intimate storytelling with bold musical experimentation.
