Rising UK indie artist Kayla Grace is making waves once again with the announcement of her new EP, Cats Can Surf, set for release on March 21 via Manifest Music. The 22-year-old songwriter, known for her raw lyricism and indie-pop storytelling, has also unveiled its latest single, a leith ross song—a tender, love-drunk tribute to her partner. Inspired by Leith Ross’ We’ll Never Have Sex, the track captures the warmth of new love through hushed vocals and delicate guitar, exploring intimacy with rare vulnerability.

“I wrote a leith ross song after meeting someone really special,” Grace shares. “On the surface, it’s a queer love song, but it’s also about how rare safety and respect can feel. When I met this person, they embodied the sweet sentiment of that Leith Ross song—seeing me as more than just sex. I wrote this song out of love for them, but also for the song that inspired it.”

With an unflinching honesty that has become her signature, the Watford-born artist continues to turn past wounds into something vital and deeply resonant. Her forthcoming EP, produced by longtime collaborator Barns Noble, builds on that theme. Featuring the recent single Berlin—a soul-stirring ode to fresh starts—Cats Can Surf is a testament to growth, vulnerability, and the power of storytelling. Across seven tracks, Grace reclaims her narrative, forging deeper connections with herself and her audience.

As she prepares to share her next chapter, Kayla Grace proves once again that sincerity is her superpower—turning life’s messier moments into something unforgettable.
